Job Description: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Contractor shall provide administrative (e.g. drafting meeting minutes) and technical support (e.g. 508 compliance) to the DoD Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee (P&T). (5.1.1)
  • The Contractor shall assist in preparation of industry solicitations and in coordinating with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and VA to establish national pharmaceutical contracts. (5.1.2)
  • The Contractor shall perform, design, and present comparative clinical medication reviews to the DoD P&T. (5.1.3)
  • The Contractor shall perform utilization studies on pharmaceuticals and drug use evaluation. (5.1.4)
  • The Contractor shall develop, and conduct evidence based comparative clinical effectiveness reviews of pharmaceutical agents and pharmaceutical agent classes. (5.1.4.2)
  • The Contractor shall use the results of the comparative clinical effectiveness reviews in coordination with pharmacoeconomists comparative cost-effectiveness reviews to develop, present and defend recommendations to change coverage (e.g. formulary tiering, prior authorization criteria, quantity limits, mandatory mail program inclusion) for pharmaceutical agents under the TRICARE Uniform Formulary to the Department of Defense Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the Uniform Formulary Beneficiary Advisory Panel. (5.1.4.3)
  • The Contractor shall provide support and assist in the evaluation of pharmaceutical policies in the Military Health System. (5.1.5)
  • The Contractor shall perform analyses requiring knowledge of design and execution. (5.1.7)
  • The Contractor shall brief and implement DoD formulary outcomes which impact the policy decisions. (5.1.10)
  • The Contractor shall participate in cross-functional teams involved in general analytics, calculating operational metrics and presenting results to various audiences. (5.1.11)
  • The Contractor shall perform critical medical literature evaluations requiring a professional level knowledge and application of concepts and techniques to optimized drug therapy for managed care pharmacy. (5.1.12)
Work Experience:
  •  At least five years in clinical pharmacy.
  •  Experience in Managed care preferred.
Job Skills:
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Access including writing SQL queries, Excel including designing pivot tables/charts, Word, PowerPoint).
  •  Meticulous attention to detail
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •  Enthusiastic, proactive, positive attitude with good listening skills and high integrity
  •  Excellent analytical skills

Education:
 Doctor of Pharmacy preferred
 PGY1 graduate preferred

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
  •  Be a United States citizen capable of obtaining an IT-2 position of Public Trust Licensed
  •  Registered Pharmacist in at least one state in the U.S.
  •  Board of Pharmaceutical Specialities Certification, preferred
Communication Skills:
  •  Excellent verbal and writing skills
  •  Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
Travel:
 Willing to travel at least quarterly to San Antonio for DoD P&T Meetings

Environmental Requirements:
  •  Mainly sedentary; in an office environment
  •  May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
  •  Flexible in working extended hours
