Description

Position Summary:

  • You will be part of a multi-faceted collaborative team responsible for managing and supporting the comprehensive enterprise IT Support Service functions for Incident Management, User Account Management, Access Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment, and a variety of other IT ad hoc requests utilizing the USCG ticketing system.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide technical support to Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system
  • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Install and test computer-related equipment
  • Provide support creating and maintaining Certification and Accreditation (C&A) security packages.
  • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns

Education/Certifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (Interim permitted), High School diploma or equivalent and at least 3 experience providing technical support for both hardware and software issues on an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.

 

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
  • Demonstrated ability to create and verify backups of data
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data collection integrity and validate proper results
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Demonstrated ability to upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Strong understanding of Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
  • Demonstrated ability to review application logs
  • Demonstrated ability Install and test computer-related equipment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and transition between projects
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams

 

Preferred Knowledge/Experience:

  • Former US Coast Guard or Navy experience

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds above the waist

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
  • Perform other duties as assigned
