Position Summary: Provides direct marketing support to the Joint Services Support (JSS) Directorate’s
Resiliency, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention (R3SP) program, Sexual Harassment and Assault Reduction Program (SHARP), and Resiliency Improvement objectives including support of Employment Initiatives, financial assistance, Family Programs, and Yellow Ribbon Outreach with the goal of generating increased participation, awareness, and program success.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide marketing support to JSS departments
- Manage department wide marketing plan and events calendar
- Conduct daily review of post, current, and future events
- Update monthly newsletter
- Identify delivery methods for state-wide distribution of the newsletter to military unit leaders, families, veterans, reservists, and guardsmen
- Conduct a daily update of social media postings (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Guard Knowledge Online
- Maintain internal military personnel relationships to further increase reach of information and delivery to targeted audiences
- Work with each department to improve partner programs that will benefit military personnel
- Promote event announcements through social media resources and internal means
- Provide onsite marketing support at coordinated events
- Develop and design layouts and illustrations consistent with the National Guard branding requirements
- Develop programs to measure the effectiveness of advertising and marketing programs
- Design, build, and maintain website for strategically planned current and future advertising, marketing, and informational needs
- Ensures websites contains approved information daily or as needed which supports strategic goals and messages of internal and external programs
Education/Certifications:
Associate degree, or higher, or a proven 3-5 years of relevant marketing experience
Required Knowledge/Experience:
- A strong working knowledge of Adobe Suite
· Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Previous experience working with JSS and the National Guard
- Previous experience with marketing and advertising
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams
