Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer supporting the FBI CJIS CTP – Applications Team, you will be responsible for configuring, managing, and maintaining enterprise commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools, with a focus on the Atlassian Data Center Suite and IBM DOORS. You will play a critical role in automating workflows, conducting accessibility testing, managing application plugins, and supporting user operations across mission-critical systems. Working within a SAFe Agile environment, you will ensure these tools are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards for collaboration, documentation, change management, and CI/CD processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps or application administration, including direct responsibility for Atlassian Data Center products and other COTS tools.
  • Administer and support enterprise-grade COTS applications, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and IBM DOORS.
  • Conduct Section 508 compliance testing for new features and modifications, ensuring accessibility standards are met.
  • Maintain FISMA-related documentation and contribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) activities by producing clear and compliant technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain user support/reference guides tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting, plugin installation, updates, and operational support for COTS tools.
  • Query and maintain PostgreSQL-based application databases to support backend operations and configuration changes.
  • Customize Jira workflows, permissions, issue types, screens, and fields in alignment with enterprise business processes.
  • Automate and extend Jira and Confluence functionalities using Groovy, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.
  • Design and implement enterprise-wide configuration standards for Atlassian applications, enabling consistency in project structures, integrations, and permissions.
  • Integrate COTS tools with other enterprise platforms using REST APIs and Atlassian’s native APIs to build seamless user workflows.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Grooming.
  • Train users on Atlassian best practices, resolve support requests, and help drive adoption of new workflows and plugins.

 

Work Environment:

Active Secret clearance required.  

Primarily remote, with occasional on-site requirements at the CJIS facility in Clarksburg, WV, for equipment pickup or meetings.

Core hours: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM ET, with potential weekend/non-business hours for maintenance and on-call support (response within one hour).
