Job Description
Electrical Engineer providing support to the government client at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB) in DC.
• Perform operations and maintenance engineering, 50%: Work involves engineering solutions for maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operations of electrical, civil, and mechanical systems at a large and complex military installation utilizing professional knowledge of engineering.
• Develops short- and long-range requirements, 40%: Performs preliminary engineering analyses on large and complicated projects. • Through surveys, research, and investigations determines what needs to be done to ensure systems and facilities meet current and future mission requirements; improve reliability, flexibility, and maintainability; and lower facility maintenance costs.
• Professional advice, 10%: Develops professional design, maintenance, and operation policies and guidance.

Minimum Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (US)
• Three (3) or more years’ experience developing plans, solutions, and electrical designs for facility and infrastructure projects and systems.

Required Skills:
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, record and manage the processes and documentation, and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships. • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating throughout JBAB on both paved and gravel roads.
• Experience working with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Cost Estimating • Software. Specific capabilities must include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics.
• Proficient in commonly used engineering software programs. Able to develop, maintain, and utilize databases as decision-making tools and in concert with geographical interface systems (GIS) as appropriate.
• Experience using NexGen IT/TRIRIGA. Ability to input, prepare monthly execution and percent design reports inputs to support the preparation of monthly execution and percent design reports

Desired Skills:
• Demonstrable experience with design and construction standards.
• Demonstrable understanding applicable OSHA standards
