Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Statistician to support the External Coding Audit initiative. The candidate will be responsible for designing and documenting a stratified proportional sampling methodology and providing comprehensive statistical guidance to ensure the audit produces representative and statistically valid results across multiple dimensions, including Service, care setting, record types, and geographic regions (e.g., NCR MD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a stratified proportional sampling plan to ensure representation across Service branches, care settings, and record types from professional and institutional datasets.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand audit objectives and translate them into statistical requirements.
  • Provide written documentation of the sampling methodology and statistical rationale for audit reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Analyze data to ensure appropriate representation and statistical power across strata.
  • Provide support for interim data reviews and adjustments to sampling if needed.
  • Assist in the interpretation and presentation of audit results, particularly with regard to stratified analyses and pass rate estimation.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in applied statistics, sampling methodologies, or audit support.
  • Demonstrated expertise in stratified sampling and power/sample size calculations.
  • Proficiency with statistical software such as R, SAS, or Python.
  • Experience working with healthcare data (e.g., EHR datasets) preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to clearly explain statistical concepts to non-statistical audiences.
  • Experience developing sampling plans and documentation for audits, evaluations, or regulatory compliance.
